The Global Warming Express (GWE) is a kids after-school, climate action program that uses science, arts, and critical thinking to teach children, ages 8-12, about climate science, how to become good stewards of the environment, and how to make their voices heard with adults through environmental activism and conservation actions that make an immediate difference. From solarizing one of their schools, to banning disposable plastic water bottles, to assisting in the creation of city-wide plastic bag bans in two NM cities, these little GWE kids are making a sizeable and immediate difference in the fight to mitigate the effects of climate change, preserve our environment, and to create policies towards sustainable communities.

Our kids are going to face the greatest existential threat that humankind has ever seen. They are going to bear the brunt of the effects like no other generation. They deserve a clean and healthy environment and future. We owe it to this generation to give them the real science and fact-based information they need to cope with the changes ahead. We owe it to them to give them training and tools in community engagement. We owe it to the children to empower their engagement in the world, as youngsters, as they will be the leaders of the future

Inland North County has some of the most significant ecological diversity in the nation and the North County Group works on conservation and climate protection here where the development pressure is very high. We are committed to land use planning that protects natural resources for the benefit of endangered and sensitive species and the enjoyment of the public.
