Big Bend National Park - 5x match

Last Chance: 5X Match to defend our National Parks

National parks brought on barely half the seasonal staff they typically hire for peak season. At the same time, the administration has eliminated timed reservation systems at Yosemite and Arches—systems designed to spread out arrivals and keep operations manageable—pushing more visitors into parks that are already stretched beyond capacity.

These all show the same thing: parks are being set up to fail. Fewer staff, more visitors, and reduced emergency capacity is a combination that makes parks less safe and less functional—on purpose.

The end goal? Privatization. The Trump Administration is pushing an agenda to drill, mine, log, and bulldoze public lands across the country. But the Sierra Club is fighting back:

  • Our lawsuit against the Trump administration for their illegal firings of national park staff is moving through the courts.

  • We’ve used our extensive grassroots network to mobilize thousands of people to show up at rallies and events to demonstrate widespread support for public lands.

  • Sierra Club supporters have driven tens of thousands of public comments since last year demanding the National Park Service restore its workforce, protect history, and ensure these places remain accessible and sustainable for generations to come.

But the fight isn’t over. Until June 30th, your gift is matched 5x—up to $100,000. Every dollar you give today supports our legal action and directly funds our grassroots organizing and Congressional lobbying to protect our national parks.

And when you give $15 or more, we'll send you our National Park poster — a reminder of the places you're helping protect and the moment you chose to stand up.

Frequently asked questions
Is my donation tax-deductible?

No. As a C4 non-profit organization, our donations allow us to lobby for environmental protections and to litigate against our biggest threats. However, this tax distinction — while giving us a broader range to enact change — also restricts gifts from being tax deductible.

How can I see how my donation is being used?

86¢ of every dollar donated goes straight to the implementation of conservation programs. This can include campaigns to protect and restore habitats, lobbying for environmental justice, and litigating against entities that are destroying our land, air, and water.

What is Sierra Club's mission?

To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth;

To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources;

To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment;

And to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.

All gifts made by 11:59pm on June 29 will be matched up to $100,000. Any gifts made after the deadline, or over the match goal, will be used for our environmental conservation efforts.
