The Sierra Student Coalition (SSC), the youth-led chapter of the Sierra Club, is a network of young people ages 14-35 organizing for climate, racial and economic justice. We offer training programs, popular education, leadership development opportunities, campaigns, resources, and a community of support for youth across the United States and Puerto Rico to find their place in climate and social justice movements.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

No. As a C4 non-profit organization, our donations allow us to lobby for environmental protections and to litigate against our biggest threats. However, this tax distinction — while giving us a broader range to enact change — also restricts gifts from being tax deductible.

How can I see how my donation is being used?

86¢ of every dollar donated goes straight to the implementation of conservation programs. This can include campaigns to protect and restore habitats, lobbying for environmental justice, and litigating against entities that are destroying our land, air, and water.

What is Sierra Club's mission?

To explore, enjoy, and protect the wild places of the earth;

To practice and promote the responsible use of the earth's ecosystems and resources;

To educate and enlist humanity to protect and restore the quality of the natural and human environment;

And to use all lawful means to carry out these objectives.
